About CrowningsThe Crowning Ceremony is a very special and meaningful ritual from ancient times. In the ceremony, after the blessing, the Celebrant calls forward the best man and bridesmaid to join together the bride and groom by placing a decretive crown on each of their heads. These crowns will be attached with a long white cord / ribbon. Afterwards, the couple drink from a common cup of wine.
The crowns can be elaborate or simple, sometimes made of garlands of flowers and often decorated with jewels. The crowns can be kept as heirlooms to remind the couple of their vows together. |
