A Comprehensive Guide to Repatriation of Deceased Body from UAE
The loss of a loved one is a painful and heart-wrenching experience, and it can become even more challenging when this happens while the person is away from home. This guide will provide detailed information on the process, paperwork, certificates, and costs related to repatriation of a deceased body from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the UK, USA, Canada, Europe, Russia, and Australia.

General Considerations
When dealing with repatriation, here are some essential steps that are generally applicable:

  1. Immediate Reporting: The death should be immediately reported to the local police in the Emirate where the death occurred.
  2. Certificate of Death: Issued by the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention after a thorough investigation.
  3. No Objection Certificate (NOC): This document is issued by the police, allowing the body to be released from the hospital.
  4. Embalmment and Casketing: This is done by certified institutions in the UAE after receiving the NOC.
  5. Consulate or Embassy involvement: The relevant embassy or consulate of the deceased's home country must be involved to ensure smooth repatriation.
  6. International Funeral Director: Hire an international funeral director who can help manage the logistics and guide you through the process.
